This panel takes the landmark project, the Music Policy Resilience Network (MPRN), as a jumping off point for findings, insights and discussion about music policy in remote, rural and isolated places. MPRN works with 19 remote towns and cities around the world – in countries as diverse as Greenland, Australia, Kyrgyzstan, UK and Nigeria – to delve into music policy at local level. It creates a rich network of international connections, new relationships, research frameworks, and best practise. The work is not always without its challenges, but always fascinating. This session is an honest journey through the project's findings so far, and an opportunity to exchange on issues arising with speakers from both inside and outside the network.
