Singing to the Winds follows Fulani Griots as they traverse isolated villages of Fouta-Toro region in Northern Senegal, blending centuries-old musical tradition with modern digital expression in the face of harsh winds and harsher economies.
Adelina Sasnauskaite is a Lithuanian visual artist based between Senegal and London. Working within ethnomusicological methods, she creates immersive documentaries rooted in long-term fieldwork, focusing on intimacy and cross-cultural collaboration. Specialising in self-produced visual research, she undertakes all aspects of production independently – including filming, sound recording, and editing – often working with minimal resources to maintain a close, unobtrusive presence within the communities she documents.
