This session explores AI’s dual role as both disruptor and enabler for music professionals, CMOs, and creatives across the globe. Through compelling case studies, it highlights Africa’s AI-driven metadata innovations, Europe’s debates on algorithmic governance, and the USA’s evolving copyright battles over AI-generated content. Key themes include: enhancing efficiency through tools such as automated licensing and anti-piracy systems; navigating ethical concerns like bias and the displacement of creators; and reconciling regulatory frameworks – from Africa’s AfCFTA IP Protocol to the EU’s AI Act and Copyright Directives. Bringing together African ingenuity and international perspectives, the panel aims to shape a fair, culturally grounded roadmap for AI adoption in the music industry.
