Spöket i köket is one of the hottest names in folk music in Europe as of right now. Folk songs and fiddle tunes, both old traditionals and newly written, in both Nordic and west Canadian tradition, as they’ve never been played before. It’s vocals in four languages, ten musicians playing twenty instruments, hammering foot percussion, a full on wind and brass section, fiddles and bagpipes and a thoroughly explosive show. The band as been touring the Nordics and Europe since 2015, released three full albums along with lots of singles and videos, award nominated multiple times to the Swedish Folk- and World music gala, Danish Music Awards, Swedish Grammy and Swedish Manifest prizes. Also one of the more versatile orchestras in the world, as they've been delivering concerts in everything from rock arenas to churches, cafes and pubs, classical venues and garden parties; no audience has yet NOT tapped their feet and/or hit the dance floor, whether there is one or not. They're now in the midst of preparing for their 10 year anniversary in 2026, a fresh album and live show, "Grannlåt", and an upcoming EP together with renowned folk vocal quartet Åkervinda.
