Sandie (aka Sandy Tzagaraki ) is a passionate Greek singer, talented musician, and dedicated music archivist specializing in Greek traditional and folk music, as well as Greek and international popular music from 1960s, 70s, and 80s.

Actively performing since 2011 in concerts and festivals in Greece and the Netherlands, she is currently studying classical singing and music theory under Liana Kokosi (Panos Dimas Voice Studies) and Nikos Kokolakis (AR Conservatoire). In 2023, she graduated from the postgraduate seminar for Song Teachers at the National Conservatory of Greece, studying alongside Panos Dimas. She also holds a degree in Modern History from the University of Crete (2016) and a Master’s in Archival Science from Leiden University (2022).

In addition to her creative songwriting, Sandy is researching the rich musical heritage and culture of Greek refugees from the Smyrna Catastrophe and the Asia Minor population exchange of 1922, drawing on her own background as a descendant of a refugee family. Currently based in the Netherlands, she is devoted to sharing their history, emphasizing music not only as a form of entertainment but also as a powerful medium for storytelling and historical narrative.

Sandy works as a music archivist at the Dutch Music Institute in The Hague (Nederlands Muziek Instituut). Through her work in archives, she views music as a precious gift from humanity that must be preserved and passed on to future generations.

Influenced by Greek traditional and folk music, the soft jazz of Norah Jones, the slide guitar of Bonnie Raitt, the atmospheric compositions of Manos Chatzidakis, and the cheerful accordion sounds of Dutch folk tradition, Sandy has developed a unique artistic identity. Through this eclectic blend, she communicates with her audience in a genuine and impactful way.
