Ascap award winner and Oscar Nominee, Rodrigo Leão's name has been known to the Portuguese and internacional public since the days of the band Sétima Legião. He later joined Madredeus, a project with which he raised his profile. In 1993, he released his first album under his own name, Ave Mundi Luminar, launching a solo career that would include an extensive discography, including soundtracks and collaborations with artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy), Beth Gibbons (Portishead) and Michelle Gurevich.
One of the world’s most exquisite composers has a new record. "O Rapaz da Montanha", released in April 25, is inspired on the portuguese way of life and the Portuguese music he listened to in the 70s.
The concert is a unique sound experience that celebrates Portuguese identity through carefully orchestrated instruments and voices, in a musical journey that reveals the various facets of Portugal's soul, marked by Rodrigo Leão's delicacy and innovation.
"This album is wonderful. Leão is a great ambassador of Portugal's musical universe." (ROCKDELUX)
