
Papanegro is a Chilean band formed in Santiago in 2000 after winning a national contest for emerging artists. Featuring Guayi, Mario, Pato, Carlinhos, and Chany, the group emerged from the city’s underground scene and soon became part of major live circuits. Over their career, they released four albums and performed at international festivals such as Vive Latino and SXSW, sharing stages with artists like Jamiroquai. Their music also took them on tours across Argentina, Peru, and the United States, expanding their reach beyond Chile. Known for their versatility and high-energy performances, Papanegro has become a cult reference within Latin American funk and groove, influencing new generations over 25 years of music.
