Bbass clarinetist Nils Kassap plays music at the crossroads between the heritage of French jazz (Louis Sclavis, Michel Portal, Julien Lourau) and the influence of Eastern European clarinetists (Djecko Demirov, Ivo Papazov, Selim Sesler) in a setting of rock and groove music reminiscent of Led Zepplin or F.F.F..
Already developing a virtuoso 'clarinetistic' playing incorporating contemporary techniques such as slap or scratching, as well as the electrification of the instrument allowing the use of effects, he seeks to open the musical horizon of the bass clarinet by inserting it in a context between traditional music, jazz and current music with this group.
Coming from a rich musical background, he has already been able to develop this approach in many projects and musical environments such as in jazz, in theater, in cinema, in the traditional circles of Eastern Europe or in trad electro music.
