Marcio Guelber represents a new generation of composers and instrumentalists from Minas Gerais who bring a sophisticated and creative sound, with elaborate harmonies and melodic themes that tell stories beyond traditional forms.
As an instrumentalist, Marcio has been performing his original work at festivals, theaters, and concert venues since 2015. His musical journey is marked by collaborations and encounters with artists, musicians, and composers from various parts of the world.
Being born and raised in the Mantiqueira mountains has uniquely shaped his music, which reflects the silence of these highlands, the colors, and the landscapes of Minas Gerais. His original work features an expressive sound inspired by the diversity of the accordion, piano, and guitar — instruments through which he conveys his strong and intuitive musical personality.
In 2024, he received the Marco Antônio Araújo Award for Best Instrumental Music Album from BDMG Cultural. In 2021, his suite for solo guitar was awarded and selected to be part of the XXIV Biennial of Contemporary Brazilian Music promoted by Funarte, and it premiered at the Cecília Meireles Hall in Rio de Janeiro.
