The Portuguese multi-award-winning fado singer LINA_ joins forces with the two-time Latin Grammy winners (2019 and 2023) Astor Piazzolla Quintet, direct heir to the Argentine genius who revolutionized tango, for an unprecedented performance entitled Vertigo, that brings together two musical universes made of passion, truth, and innovation.
The repertoire builds bridges between the great fados immortalized by the acclaimed Portuguese singer Amália Rodrigues and Astor Piazzolla’s nuevo tango. On stage, audiences will hear fados such as "Cansaço", "Fado Tango", "Fado Português", "Se de Saudade Morrerei ou Não", and "Canção do Mar", side by side with essential works such as "Libertango", "Verano Porteño", "Camorra", "Romance del Diablo", "Milonga del Ángel" and "Muerte del Ángel".
In addition to the Quintet’s musicians, the show will also feature a twelve-string Portuguese guitar player, so that the meeting between fado and tango will be even deeper.
