In the year that marks the centenary of the acclaimed Portuguese composer and virtuoso of the Portuguese guitar Carlos Paredes, guitarists and composers José Peixoto and Nuno Cintrão pay tribute to the immortal legacy of his music. Drawing on the references, inspiration and complicity of their work in the duo Combinatorium, with which they released the album Fragmentos Imaginários (2022), now the musicians propose to explore and reinvent the sound universe of the master of Portuguese guitar in VISITA: Dialogues with Carlos Paredes, an album of 10 songs (five composed by Carlos Paredes and the rest by the duo) released on October 10th.
VISITA is an encounter with Carlos Paredes - in all that the very act of visiting holds: to be with someone, and to carry the imprint of that moment as both greeting and rememberance. This VISITA strengthens the desire for tribute through a dialogue that unfolds in new musical readings, born from the fusion of voices brought he classsical and electric guitars. In doing so, it extends the challenge already contained in Paredes's works - deeply innovative in their time and ever open to rediscovery.
