ALKANTARA MEDIORKESTRA: Jazzbound (Italy/Bulgaria/Ireland/Palestine/Greece)
Bridging Middle Eastern traditions, Mediterranean vibes, and jazz improvisation
Jazzbound is a musical project born during a creative residency in 2023 as part of the Alkantara Fest. This innovative journey unites musicians from Italy, Ireland, Bulgaria, Palestine and Greece, creating an artistic experience that celebrates jazz music as a tool for intercultural dialogue and sound experimentation. In 2024, with eight core musicians and two internationally renowned guests such as Antonello Salis and Karl Seglem, the ensemble stands out for the originality of its production and its ability to connect different musical traditions. With such a formula, the project debuted in Sicily for a mini-tour of five consecutive concerts and resulted in the recording of a self-titled ‘live’ album to be released and promoted live in 2025.
