Giorgos Manolaksi was botn in Heraklio, Crete in 1982. At the age of eight years old, he began learing the cretan laouto, taught by his father, Kostas Manolakis, one of the major laouto players of his generation. Six years later, he began studying the bouzouki under several remarkable teachers. Today Giorgos is considered one of the greatest virtuosos of his generation on the laouto and bouzouki. He has worked with many notable musicians and composers, such as Ross Daly, Hainides, Naseer Shamma, Psarantonis, Sokratis Malamas, Zohar Fresco and others.
