After “Teresa Torga” and “Canção da Paciência”, Cristina Branco continues the tribute to José Afonso that began with the album “Abril” (2007), presenting the new single “De Não Saber o Que Me Espera”. The track precedes the album “Mulheres de Abril”, which will be released exclusively on CD and vinyl on October 24 and is already available for online pre-order. The digital version, out on November 28, is now available for pre-save.
“Mulheres de Abril” shines a light on the women sung by José Afonso, their intimate narratives, and the progressive vision the composer expressed about the female role in a society in transformation.
These songs will come to life on stage in the show “Mulheres de Abril – Cristina Branco sings José Afonso”, with a national tour highlighted by concerts on November 29 at the Auditório Municipal Carlos do Carmo (Lagoa) and December 17 at Casa da Música (Porto).
On record and live, the singer is joined by outstanding musical collaborators who consolidate her sound: Ricardo Dias (piano), Bernardo Moreira (double bass), Alexandre Frazão (drums), Mário Delgado (guitars), and Tomás Marques (soprano saxophone).
