In addition to the concert scheduled for December 15 at Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, Brazilian artist Cícero will also perform in Vale de Cambra, at the Centro de Artes e Espetáculos on December 12, and the following day at the Cine-Teatro in Amarante.
After a five-year absence from Portuguese stages, Cícero is preparing for his much-anticipated return with “Concerto 1”, a unique show that blends music, theater, and cinema, offering audiences an immersive experience that revisits his artistic journey while hinting at new creative directions.
In this new format, the Rio de Janeiro–born musician appears on stage in an intimate setup — just voice and guitar — accompanied by a virtual orchestra, projected live, which enhances the concert’s visual and emotional depth. Acclaimed by audiences and critics in Brazil, the show toured more than twenty states in just three months during 2023, selling out theaters across the country. At the end of that year, the concept gave rise to a self-titled album featuring new versions of some of Cícero’s most iconic songs.
The first part of the show invites the audience into a sensory journey, where light, imagery, and sound blend into classical arrangements of major highlights from the artist’s career. In the second act, the concert transitions into more contemporary sounds, offering a glimpse into the essence of his new original album set for global release on August 6.
“Uma Onda em Pedaços” (A Wave in Pieces) is his first album of new songs since 2020 and the first to feature collaborations with other artists, including Duda Beat, Tori, and Vovô Bebê. Ranging from jazz-inflected to experimental, these ten “songs in Portuguese, English, and in no language at all” explore endings and new beginnings, each with a distinct aesthetic — from arrangement and lyrics to vocal textures. In 2026, Cícero will return to Portugal to present this new recording project.
